The Immokalee Volunteer Firefighters Association in conjunction with Mason Pro Rodeo is bringing a professional PRCA rodeo to Immokalee on January 30 and 31, 2015 at the Immokalee Seminole Youth Ranch Arena. The Immokalee rodeo is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) for championship points towards qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. This rodeo is one of a series of three rodeos in January 2015 (Lakeland, Wachaula, and Immokalee) and will serve as the “finals” for the series, with the contestants earning the most points among all three rodeos presented with trophy saddles and belt buckles in all seven rodeo events after the Immokalee rodeo.
As a singer/songwriter, Phil Vassar has hit the Top 5 seven times with songs like “Carlene,” “Last Day of My Life” and “American Child” and topped the charts with “In A Real Love” and the perennial favorite “Just Another Day in Paradise.” Known as one of Nashville’s top tunesmiths, his songs other artists have taken to #1 include “My Next Thirty Years” by Tim McGraw, “She’s Right On The Money” by Alan Jackson, and Jo Dee Messina’s “Bye, Bye” and “I’m Alright.” New artist David Nail had a hit with Phil’s “The Sound of a Million Dreams,” which Billboard named the #1 song in their Top 10 Country Songs of 2012.
Vassar continues to churn out incisive, soulful lyrics and infectious melodies that capture the heart and soul in the unique and special way that only he can, and his latest single, “Love Is Alive,” is no exception. Written with frequent co-writer, the award-winning Tom Douglas (“The House That Built Me,” “Little Rock,” “I Run To You), the new release is the foundation for a much-anticipated new album that will hit stores on Rodeowave in mid-2013.
Love and Theft is an American country music duo composed of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson, both of whom sing lead vocals and play guitar. The pair first galvanized fans in 2009 with the Top 10 hit "Runaway." That breakthrough success set the stage for their debut album World Wide Open, which also produced the hit single "Dancing In Circles." After a move from the Disney-affiliated Carolwood label to RCA, the dynamic duo scored their first #1 single with "Angel Eyes," which was featured on Love and Theft's self-titled second album, along with the hits "Runnin' Out of Air" and "If You Ever Get Lonely." “Whiskey On My Breath”, the duo's third album, marks a significant creative statement for the two singer-songwriter-guitarists, whose resume already includes a long series of career highlights.
